Mechanic Crashes Customer’s Vehicle in Oakford

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to an unpaved road in Oakford – Verulam after receiving reports of a motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival it was established that a VW Caddy was travelling up New Glasgow Road when a Nissan Almera which was travelling in the opposite direction collided into it. The driver of the Nissan Almera was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and was allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road.

He is a self employed mechanic and was driving a customer’s vehicle at the time of the collision. The occupants of both vehicles including a child who was in the Nissan Almera at the time of the incident were not injured.

The scene was handed over to Police for further investigation.
