Suspects arrested after house robbery

The quick response and immediate follow up on information led to the arrest of two suspects aged 19 and 22 within hours of the crime being committed.

It is alleged that on Wednesday, 24 October 2018 at approximately 01:25 in Lombaard street, 7de Laan, Booysens Park the complainant was lying on his couch when he heard a knock on the door when he woke up, he noticed three suspects in his house and they were armed with knives, they took the complainant to his room with the rest of the family and demanded money, the suspects fled with cell phones, tekkies, playstation and a dvd player. No one was injured during the robbery and the suspects fled on foot.

The Bethelsdorp Task team immediately followed up on information and at approximately 09:25 on Wednesday 24 October 2018 they arrested two suspects aged 19 and 22 on charges of house robbery and for Possession of suspected stolen property. Both suspects will appear in the Port Elizabeth New Law Courts during the week.

Quick response by police and immediate following up on information always achieves positive results. The Mount Road Cluster Commander Maj General Thembisile Patekile praised the members for their swift response and apprehending the suspects. During the investigation the detectives will also probe whether this suspects could be linked to other crimes in the area.
