Passenger injured after jumping out of a moving vehicle in Verulam

One person was injured after he jumped out of a moving bakkie before it overturned on Todd Street in Verulam.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by passing motorists reporting the accident. Upon arrival it was established that an Isuzu bakkie loaded with building blocks was travelling from Redcliffe towards Verulam.

As the bakkie passed Oaklands the driver lost control of the vehicle. A passenger seated at the back jumped off shortly before the bakkie could overturn. He sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Osindisweni Hospital by ambulance.
