2-year-old hospitalized following a non-fatal drowning in Helicon Heights

A 2-year-old boy was hospitalised following a nonfatal drowning at a home in Helicon Heights in Bloemfontein yesterday afternoon.

It is believed that the boy fell into the swimming pool whereby his parents pulled him out and initiated bystander CPR.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 17H30, they found that the boy was breathing on his own. Paramedics stabilised him on the scene before transporting him to the hospital for further medical care.
