A man who volunteers with the Wilderness Search & Rescue team was airlifted from the Constantia Nek trail by the AMS Helicopter after he apparently slipped and broke his leg walking up the mountain this evening.
ER24 paramedics were on standby at 18:00 to meet the helicopter in the Kirstenbosch Gardens for a transfer through to Victoria Hospital in Wynberg.
Metro, the Traffic Department and other services were also on the scene.
