60-Year-old Humansdorp man arrested on various drug-related charges

Members from the South African Police Service in Humansdorp remains committed to in efforts to address the root causes of crime. In an accosted effort to any form of criminality in the Cluster, members of the South African Police Service through their distinctive skills, have made a major breakthrough during an operation this morning, 30 January 2019 at 01:45 in Pendoring Street, Kruisfontein, Humansdorp. 

A 60-year-old male was arrested after being found in possession of an unlicensed firearm (a 9mm short), two magazines with several 9mm rounds, 36 Tik straws, 6g dagga,108 Mandrax tablets worth R6 480-00 and cash to the amount of R5 673-00.    

Humansdorp SAPS will continue with our Back to Basics approach of targeted and informed deployment of resources.  The 60-year-old male suspect is due to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Thursday, 31 January 2019.  The suspect will be facing the following charges: 1. Illegal possession of a firearm, 2. Illegal possession of ammunition and 3. Illegal dealing in drugs.   

Police visibility will be enhanced in the Humansdorp Cluster and SAPS will conduct random stop-and-search and intelligence-driven operations to effectively deal with crime generators to ensure that our communities are rid of illegal substances.  The Humansdorp Cluster Commander, Brigadier John Lebok said: “We will continue with our actions to clamp down on drug outlets in the Humansdorp Cluster, as several cases stems from drug posts”.
