Police appealing for information in relation to a house robbery and attack on a couple, where a senior Sedibeng traffic officer was fatally shot

Police are appealing for public’s assistance in solving the case of murder and attempted murder following a house robbery in Cassandra Street in Vereeniging.

It is reported that on 29 January 2019 around midnight, the 49-year-old man and his 43-year-old wife were asleep in the house when they were shot at. Both the husband and the wife were struck and the man, a senior traffic officer at Sedibeng was certified dead on the scene.

The wounded wife was taken to a local health facility for medical attention.

The motive at this stage is unknown however police investigation continue.

Cases of murder and attempted murder have been opened for investigation by the police.
