A man, believed to be 42-years-old, was left seriously injured this morning when he was knocked over by a truck on the R56 in the France Location outside of Pietermaritzburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 07h25 to find the man lying on the side of the road. The truck that had hit the man was found parked a short distance away.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a serious condition.
The man was treated for his injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to Edendale Provincial Hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
