Two people died and eight were injured following a multiple-vehicle collision in Germiston

Two people were killed and eight others injured this morning following a multiple-vehicle collision on the N17 in Germiston.

ER24 personnel, along with several other services, arrived on the scene to find that several vehicles had collided and were found scattered on the highway. Numerous patients were found on the scene.

On closer inspection, medics found that one patient had sustained numerous fatal injuries while three others had sustained critical injuries. The four other patients found on the scene had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Emergency personnel treated the patients and provided the three critically injured with advanced life support interventions.

Unfortunately, after some time, one of the critically injured patients succumbed their injuries and was declared dead.

Once all the patients had been treated, one of the critically injured was airlifted to hospital by the ER24 Oneplan helicopter while the remaining patients were transported by ambulance.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
