Tshwane Metro Police K9 unit recovers a hijacked vehicle and two firearms, with three suspects arrested

Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) K9 officers received information about a vehicle that was hijacked in Lotus Gardens, west of Pretoria, on 17 June 2019.

The officers followed up on the information and located the vehicle in Atteridgeville. They managed to stop the vehicle and the three suspects who were inside the vehicle were arrested. The suspects were also in possession of two firearms.

All suspects were arrested and will soon appear in court.

The TMPD is very serious about tackling crime and will continue to work very hard towards a crime-free society.

The MMC of Community safety Alderman Karen Meyer has welcomed the arrest and commended the K9 unit for their hard work. ‘We are taking back the City from the criminals’ she mentioned.
