Police have arrested a suspect for possession of unlicensed firearm and car-hijacking

GAUTENG – The suspect was arrested today by a well dedicated team from Thokoza SAPS who worked on a tip-off from one of the victims.

It is alleged that the victim who is an employee at one of the most targeted companies was doing his normal duties when he noticed from his rear mirror view that his being followed. He (the victim) immediately notify the Police from Thokoza SAPS who acted swiftly and came come his rescue. Upon arrival of the police one of the suspects jumped out of the car and disappeared but one who was identified by the victim was arrested.

He (the suspect) was in possession of unlicensed firearm and five (05) rounds of live ammunition. The suspect will be charged for being in possession of unlicensed firearm and live ammunition, car-hijacking as well as attempted car-hijacking.
The firearm will be taken for ballistic to check whether it was not involved in other crimes committed around Kathorus.

Suspect is expected to appear before the Magistrate soon at Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
