Lucky escape after crashes into house in Potchefstroom

A man escaped serious injury last night when a bakkie crashed through a fence and into a residence off Paul Street in Potchefstroom.
ER24 personnel arrived on the scene at 19h25 to find the bakkie smashed into part of the home. A man, believed to be in his 20s, was found lying trapped inside the vehicle.
Provincial Fire Services had to stabilize the residential structure before extricating the man from the vehicle.
Once freed, medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained only moderate injuries.
The man was treated for his injuries and thereafter transported, under SAPS supervision, to a nearby hospital.
It is understood that two people, that had been inside the residence at the time of the incident, were transported privately to hospital.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
