Community lauded police for arresting three for drunken driving during vehicle checkpoint

Provincial Station Commander’s Disruptive team were applauded by the members of the community during VCP (vehicle checkpoint) in Cambridge and Vulindlela where three suspects were arrested for drunken driving today.

The operation consisted of station commanders from Mdantsane, East London, King William’s Town, Port Alfred, Motherwell Clusters and Provincial crime prevention team under the command of the Provincial Head visible policing, Brigadier Ntsabo.

The VCP was moved to different problematic areas (hotspots) in Cambridge to address drunken driving, illegal firearms, transportation of drugs and stolen goods, searching for dangerous weapons.

This is aimed at making sure that motorists do not drink and drive, currently, they are showing a blatant disregard for the safety of their lives and those of other road users.
