Stolen vehicle recovered in Tongaat

A Toyota Hilux bakkie that was stolen from High Street in Tongaat was recovered by members of Reaction Unit South Africa.

At approximately 10:24 the vehicles tracking device was activated and began emitting signals from a sugar cane field along Watson Highway in the vicinity of the northbound lane of the N2. Reaction Officers tracked and recovered the vehicle abandoned on an unpaved road.

The bakkie was extensively damaged by the thieves who began stripping it in search of the tracking device.
