Mandrax worth R50 000 seized

EASTERN CAPE – Today, 09 October 2019, information was received of a consignment of drugs that were being transported on the N2 towards Paterson or Grahamstown. A joint operation team was established with members of the Grahamstown Crime intelligence, Grahamstown K9 and the Grahamstown Operational Command Centre.

The members travelled towards Port Elizabeth and stopped off at the N2/N10 intersection at Nanaga when they spotted two males who matched the description of the suspects.

A search was conducted and packets of mandrax tablets were found in their jackets. The value of the tablets is approximately R50 000. The suspects who are in their early 30’s face a charge of possessions of drugs and will appear in the local magistrate’s court later this week.
