POLOKWANE – In a statement, Spokesperson for the department, Joel Seabi says the scammers are targeting prospective applicants claiming to be officials in the department. At least 40 work integrated learning (WIL) opportunities have been advertised within the department.

It is alleged the people running the scam contact the prospective applicants to inform them that he/she is shortlisted and that they must complete fitness forms at the hospital. The applicants are further instructed to pay a R420.00 ‘doctor’s consultation’ fee at PEP Money Market.

Seabi continues to remind the public that the department will never request any money from any person who has applied for either an internship, a post or work integrated learning opportunity.

Those who applied for the said posts and were requested to pay such a fee are urged to email the details to Legodi RW at legodir@dot.limpopo.gov.za.
