Mpumalanga: Police in Mpumalanga are looking for suspects who killed two people at Marloth Park near Komatipoort

Nelspruit: It is alleged that on 30 October 2019, at about 15:00 a family of four were in their house at Marloth Park when two suspects approached. The suspects, posing as job seekers, demanded work to which the family said there was none at the moment that they could offer. Suddenly more men appeared, with one of them wielding a firearm.

The suspects tied the victims up and covered their mouths with cloths. The suspects fled the scene with valuables. Two victims, the owner of the house and a female visitor later suffocated to death as a result of being gagged by the suspects, while the wife and daughter survived.

Police opened two counts of murder and hereby urges anyone with information that may assist in tracing the suspects to contact Sergeant Vusi Moses Thobela on 082 449 0242 or the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111.

In a separate incident, a 44-year-old woman was attacked by a man with a machete (Panga) at the De Harp Inyoni Farm, in Komatipoort.

It is alleged that on 30 October 2019, a 35-year-old man was arrested for brutally killing the mother of his ex-girlfriend. The deceased was found with wounds and her left arm severed.

Upon arrival (of police) at the suspect’s place, they found him with a panga, believed to be the murder weapon. He was then arrested and will appear at the Komatipoort Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, 01 October 2019.
