Pierre Martin Bos appointed as FCA South Africa CEO

Midrand, 07 November 2019 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Pierre Martin Bos as Chief Executive Officer for South Africa. Out-going CEO, Graham Eagle will leave his position on 15 November 2019 to pursue other interests.

Eagle’s appointment was always intended to be short term, and over the past 16 months, he has solidified FCA’s activity in South Africa focusing on improved customer service and streamlining the business efficiencies. The board thanks him and wishes him well.

Bos joins the South African team from Italy, having been part of FCA since 1999. The Frenchman has achieved notable successes for the business in multiple markets and will chart a longer-term strategy for the business and brands locally.

His FCA career began with Iveco in Italy where he was in charge of marketing and sales for used heavy commercials vehicles. In 2001 he spent time in the US looking after logistics and field tests for fleets within the commercial vehicles sector before returning to France in 2002 where he had his first introduction to Fiat in customer care and process and product improvement, implementing solutions to increase customer and dealer satisfaction.

In 2005 he joined FCA Head Office for Europe, Middle East and Africa markets in Turin, Italy as LCV Marketing Manager where he doubled LCV sales within two years. His success in fleet sales in Europe leads to his appointment as LCV Area Manager for Europe before spending time in the UK with Fiat Professional, launching new models and engaging with governmental bodies for fleet sales.

As Country Manager for Fiat Professional in Denmark, he removed the brand’s dependence on one large customer and increased sales through the network by 2014. He returned to France in 2015 to lead Fiat Professional in his home market and return and increase in market share for the first time in four years. In 2017 he became brand manager for Fiat, Lancia, and Abarth. He comes to South Africa from his role as Sales Manager for LCV in the Italian market.

With a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bos is fluent in French, Italian and English, and also speaks German and Danish.
