Ngcobo Police with other units arrested a 39-year-old man for possession of unlicensed firearm with fifty (50) .45 pistol live rounds of ammunition, fifty (50) 9mm live rounds of ammunition and a magazine. The suspect was arrested on Friday, 17 January 2020 at Ngcobo CBD area.
The suspect has been charged with possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
In a separate incident, Ngcobo Police with other units arrested a 31-year-old man for murder. The suspect was arrested on Friday, 17 January 2020 around Ngcobo.
Both suspects will be linked with murders that have been committed around Ngxoki Village, Ngcobo recently. The two suspects will appear before the Ngcobo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 20 January 2020 on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm, ammunition and murder. The recovered firearm will be sent for ballistic tests to establish if it was not used in the commission of crime at Ngcobo and the surrounding areas.
