Warrenton detectives arrest 12 suspects for housebreaking and theft in Kimberley

NORTHERN CAPE – Detectives at the Warrenton police station under the command of the Detective Head, Captain Willem Fourie conducted tracing operations yesterday, 22 January 2020 in the Warrenton area focusing on housebreaking and theft cases.

The team of detectives arrested a total of 12 male suspects for various housebreaking cases that were committed in the area. Various stolen goods amounting to thousands of rands including laptops, cellphones, clothing, television sets, liquor, printers, electrical stoves and other items that were stolen during the break-ins were recovered.

When one of the homeowners discovered that his home was broken into and contacted the police, he was informed that the three suspects were already apprehended by the police at the Bull Hill interaction with the assistance of members of Hartswater Crime Intelligence.

Homeowners are urged to ensure that they activate their alarm systems and ensure that all windows, security gates and openings are secured and locked when there are left unattended.
The twelve suspects will be appearing on 24 January 2020 in the Warrenton Magistrates’ Court on charges of housebreaking and theft.

The Acting Cluster Commander of Frances Baard stated that the police will continue to turn the tide against crime and they will reclaim the communities from the criminals squeezing their space.
