SAPS arrest two suspects for allegedly stabbing learners

KIMBERLEY – Members from Hartswater SAPS and Kimberley Public Order Police (POP) arrested two males, aged 18 and 21 respectively today, 28 January 2020 at 08:45 after they were allegedly involved in a stabbing incident involving three learners aged 18, 19 and 19 during separate incidents at a tuck shop opposite the local high school in Hartswater.

The first incident occurred on 21 January 2020 at 14:30, during which an 18-year-old male was allegedly stabbed. The second incident took place on 23 January 2020 at 11:35, at the same tuck shop during which two learners aged 19 were also stabbed by the two suspects.
The suspects were arrested at two different locations in Hartswater after they went into hiding after the incidents. One of the learners was hospitalised at a local hospital in Kimberley.

The police are investigating a case of attempted murder, Assault Common and Assault GBH (intent to cause grievous bodily harm) against the two suspects.

The suspects will be appearing the Hartswater Magistrate’s Court soon. Police investigations are continuing.
