Firearm Amnesty in progress at Upington SA

Members of Upington Firearms Liquor and Second Hand Goods Control (FLASH) – Firearm Amnesty went an extra mile on Saturday, 15 February 2020, reporting for duty to accommodate those who cannot make it to the office during the week.

Amnesty officials Warrant Officer Gerhardes Visser, Sergeant Lynne Isaacs and AC Ragel Masilo are ready to capture the firearms to be handed in voluntarily.

A number of firearms were handed in today at Upington police station.

The Acting Vispol Commander of Upington, Lieutenant Colonel Andre Green alluded that the firearm amnesty for surrendering of illegal/unwanted firearms, parts and /or ammunition, will continue until 31 May 2020 and encouraged the community to make use of this opportunity to surrender all unwanted and unlicensed firearms.
