A man, believed to be in his 60s, was killed in the early hours of the morning when he was shot at his residence in Chartwell, Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare, arrived on the scene at 00h15 to find the man lying outside the door of his residence.
Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained two gunshot wounds and was in a critical condition.
The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Life Fourways Hospital for stabilisation. Once stable, the man was transported to Helen Joseph Provincial Hospital for further care.
Unfortunately, after some time, the man succumbed to his injuries.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
