The Pavilion Shopping Centre response to reported COVID-19 case at Pick n Pay

On Wednesday, 03 June 2020, the Centre Management of The Pavilion Shopping Centre was notified by Pick n Pay that they have temporarily closed their store after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. The store immediately implemented its strict protocol, which includes tracing the staff member’s close contacts and sending them home to self-quarantine.

All staff will also be screened by health practitioners. The necessary authorities have been notified and the store has been deep cleaned and sanitised by a specialist cleaning team. The store will safely reopen on 5 June 2020 at 9 am.

The Pavilion Shopping Centre has implemented and will continue to follow strict and enhanced hygiene standards and procedures for routine cleaning and disinfection of high contact touchpoints in the Mall. The Centre has also advised that all tenants continue to maintain appropriate measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 within their premises.

The health, safety and well being of all our patrons is of utmost priority. We will continue to engage with our tenants, as well as service providers to ensure they are implementing the necessary measures to safeguard customers within their stores, as we implement enhanced measures to limit exposure to the virus.
