A gang of four (4) men are being sought after they robbed a newspaper delivery vehicle on Madrona Drive in Trenance Park in Verulam today (Wednesday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called to the scene at approximately 13:36 after the victim sought assistance from a resident in the area. On arrival the victim informed Reaction Officers that he is employed at The Rising Sun and was delivering newspapers in the area.
As he came to a stop near the reservoir he noticed four individuals walking towards his branded Toyota Hilux bakkie. When he attempted to drive off one of the suspects ran to the driver’s side of the vehicle switched off the ignition before producing a firearm.
The gunman kept watch over the driver while his accomplices ransacked the vehicle and stole three cellphones and his wallet. They then fled through a pathway leading to Amouti.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspects however no arrests were made.
