Shots fired after robbery at a tuck shop in Mslasini

Several shots were fired by suspects as they fled the scene of a robbery at a tuck shop in Mslasini – Everest Heights last night (Friday).

At approximately 20:29 the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Center received calls from residents of the informal settlement reporting shots being fired. Reaction Officers were dispatched to investigate and on arrival establishment that four men had entered a tuck shop and robbed one person of his Huawei and Nokia cellphones. One of the suspects was armed with a firearm.

An employee was locked inside the cash office which the suspects demanded that he open teh door. When he refused the suspects exited the store and fired several shots. No injuries were reported. Several spent 9mm cartridges were recovered.

Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspects however no arrests were made.
