Two men arrested for alleged break-in at primary schools in Phiritona

FREE STATE – On Tuesday 14 July 2020, the Welkom POP Reaction Team was busy with crime prevention duties in Phiritona, Heilbron, and whilst on foot patrol at Sizabantu Informal settlement about 03:00, noticed two suspicious males carrying bags.

Members approached them and requested to search them. Housebreaking implements were found in the bags as well as drugs that were found in their person.

Circuit Breakers were also found which were later confirmed to have been stolen during housebreaking at two Primary schools in Phiritona.

They two aged 32 and 38 were arrested and charged with possession of suspected stolen property, possession of drugs, a charge of Contravention of DMA Reg 33 (1)(A)Failure to confine in a place of Residence from 21:00 and 04:00 unless permitted to render essential service, reg48(2).

They will appear in the Heilbron Magistrate court soon.
