A woman sustained critical injuries and a man sustained moderate injuries following a shooting incident on the N2 in Pacaltsdorp, George this morning.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly before 09h00, they found a woman lying in the road next to a vehicle. She sustained two gunshot wounds to the body and was found to be in a critical condition. ER24 as well as Metro EMS immediately initiated advanced life support interventions at the scene before transporting her to hospital for further medical care.
While on their way to the hospital, ER24 was phoned to say that a man was apprehended a short distance further by police in a nearby field. Another crew of ER24 paramedics was dispatched and once they arrived at the scene they assessed the man and found that he sustained moderate injuries.
ER24 treated the man at the scene before transporting him with the help of the SAPS to hospital for further medical care.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known to our paramedics, but local authorities will be investigating.
