Missing person sought by Mfuleni police

Mfuleni police are requesting the assistance of the public to trace 24-year-old Sibabalo Tsilana from Covid-Squatter camp in Mfuleni who was last in the early hours of Saturday morning, 12 September 2020, after an alleged altercation with another male.

According to witnesses, the victim fell into a nearby river during the altercation and has not been seen since. He was reported missing by his family later that day. Investigations into his disappearance resulted in the questioning of two possible suspects, who were later released due to insufficient evidence.

Various units of SAPS and the City have participated in a search operation in the area where Sibabalo was last seen, without being successful thus far. Due to the uncertainty whether he has indeed disappeared in the river, we have now broadened our search for him, and kindly request anyone who can assist police with his whereabouts to contact Detective Sergeant Nkululeko Magqaza on 082 777 6898, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

It is unknown what Sibabalo was wearing at the time of his disappearance. A photograph of him is attached herewith for publication purposes.
