The decomposing body of a man was discovered by a passerby utilizing a short cut leading from the bottom of Wick Street in the Verulam CBD to the R102 this morning (Saturday).
At approximately 07:01 the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Center received a call from an individual reporting the discovery. Reaction Officers and Medics were dispatched to the scene and on arrival found the body lying in a prone position in a bush next to the pathway.
The body was in a state of decomposition. The deceased was dressed in blue denim jeans with an overall pants over it, a light blue t-shirt and a black jacket. His shoes were missing. There were no obvious signs of trauma.
The cause of death is subject to Police investigation.
