Tactical Response Teams attached at Bityi and Ngcobo, Detectives and Information Team embarked on an operation in search of suspects with outstanding warrants and in possession of illegal weapons at Caba locality,Qumbu under Sulenkama on 25 September 2020. The operation began at 19:00 until 08:00 on the next day.
At 23:05 the team arrested the first male suspect aged 43 at Caba location. At his premises police recovered ammunition hidden in a bucket in the garage. The suspect was charged for illegal possession of weapons.
A second male suspect was arrested at Sulenkama. The 44-years-old male suspect from Mafusini location under Sulenkama was charged for unlawful possession of firearms.
Both suspects are expected to appear at Qumbu magistrates’court on Monday 28 September 2020 facing respective charges.
