Gruesome murder of a 15-year-old boy, police launched a manhunt

NORTHERN CAPE – Police in Barkley West have launched a manhunt after a lifeless body of a 15-year-old boy was found in the gravesite in Mataleng, Barkly West. The boy’s body was found on Saturday, 17 October 2020, at approximately 23h30, laying in the gravesite with severe head injuries. Our preliminary investigation suggests that the boy was pelted with a stone or a brick to the head, and succumbed to head injuries.

The paramedics declared him dead on the scene. The motive of this gruesome murder is unknown at this stage. No one has been arrested in connection with the boy’s murder. We are appealing to any person with any possible lead that could assist the police to bring those who are involved in the boy’s murder to book, to contact the Barkly West Police on 053 531 6200 or contact the Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Roman 082 495 5018.
