It is alleged that seven suspects robbed New Look Hairdressing Saloon at corner Kerk and Goud Street. Two suspects entered the saloon and pointed people inside with firearms; they were joined by five of their accomplices. They ordered females to lie down before they took eight cellphones of the victims and undisclosed amount of money. One-shot was fired before they fled the scene and a 30-year-old female customer was shot in the lower body. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The community alerted the police where the suspects ran after committing the crime. Four suspects were found inside the room; police recovered two unlicensed firearms with no serial numbers and live rounds. All cellphones of the victims were also recovered.

Firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing to ascertain if they were used in other serious and violent crimes.
