Tomato hawker robbed in Hazelmere

Two suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, a Huawei P30 cellphone, a Bad Boy watch, and the keys to an Isuzu truck leaving the victim stranded outside the Hazelmere Community Hall in Hazelmere.

RUSA received a call from the owner of a general dealer in the area reporting the robbery. Members of Reaction Unit South Africa responded to the scene and on arrival met the victim who stated that while offloading tomatoes on a client’s premises he was approached by two men who produced firearms.

The suspects robbed him of his valuables and asked him to get into the back of his truck. The victim refused. The suspects fled on foot towards the main road. It could not be confirmed if they had a getaway vehicle parked on the road.

The victim was not injured.
