JOHANNESBURG CENTRAL – Police arrested a 45-year-old male for dealing in drugs, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and possession of ammunition at corner Noord and Banket Street on the 26 November 2020 at 11:00.
Police were busy with operation Okae Molao when they received a tipoff about a male dealing in drugs. They rushed to the scene and searched him. They found two small plastic bags with drugs; he took the police to his storeroom. Police recovered several small plastic bags with drugs and two hundred and fifty-seven rands. Furthermore, they also recovered an unlicensed firearm with live rounds.
The firearm will be sent to ballistic testing to ascertain if it was used in the commission of other serious and violent crimes.
The investigation is underway and the suspect will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.
