Intoxicated female rescued from house on fire in KZN

An intoxicated female was rescued by neighbors from a house on fire on Old Inanda Road in the Chubbies Garage area this morning (Tuesday).

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a call from a member of the public reporting the fire. Reaction Officers and Medics were dispatched to the scene and on arrival found that the fire had been extinguished.
According to neighbors, they found the residence on fire when they investigated continuous barking from a dog on the property. They noticed the female lying on the floor and removed her from the house. They managed to extinguish the blaze with buckets of water.

The woman could not provide details leading up to the fire due to her being heavily intoxicated. Most of her household contents were destroyed.
