Focus on Crime Prevention at Eastern Cape Back-to-School Roadshow

Eastern Cape Back-to-School Roadshow team spent time with learners of different cultures at Barkly East High School in Barkly East.

The visit aimed at building and maintaining healthy relations between South African Police Service and schools, in a collective effort to ensure the well-being and safety of children in and out of school.

The Junior Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Ms Anobuntu Khayingana introduced the Junior Commissioner Concept to learners, and explained its significance in the fight against crime. She further outlined attributes expected from Junior Commissioners. She highlighted discipline, perseverance, dedication, commitment and discipline as critical attributes for a competent Junior Commissioner as she narrated on her journey as a reigning Junior Commissioner in the Eastern Cape Province.

Community Policing Forum supported the initiative and pledged to play a critical role in growth and development of children in different environments.

School management welcomed the initiative and committed themselves to go the extra mile in ensuring the well-being of children.
