Police Minister pays last respect to a fallen hero in Engcobo

Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele joined the SAPS family in paying last respect to the late Warrant Officer Thongo Nokwali at Ntseleni Locality in Engcobo on Saturday, 27 March 2021.

The late Warrant Officer who passed on recently, served in different environments after joining the service in 2003. At the time of his passing, he was attached to Presidential Protection Unit in Tshwane.

The fallen hero was characterised as a humble and disciplined member of the service, who worked tirelessly and diligently in executing his protection duties.

The Minister expressed his sadness about the loss of a member with whom he had frequent personal interaction in the line of duty. He also described the late member as a humble, committed and dedicated gentleman who was always available for official duties of protecting the principals. The General further expressed his concern about rate of police killings in the entire country.

General Cele concluded his address by thanking the Nokwali family for allowing their son to serve in the South African Police Service.
