Foreign national Oladimeji Emmanuel John Ayodeii (39) appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 06 April 2021 for cloned bank card fraud after he was arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team.
It is alleged that on 04 April 2021, Ayodeii checked in at the Southern Sun Hotel in Cape Town and paid using a cloned bank card.
The Hawks’ team was summoned to the scene by the management and found Ayodeii still at the establishment. This was after a Nedbank card division investigator alerted the staff to the suspicious transaction.
Ayodeii was consequently detained, the court has since remanded him in custody and the case is due back in court on Monday, 12 April 2021
