Police interact with community to combat crime

Crime awareness Campaign was conducted by SAPS Letsitele members on Sunday 11 April 2021 at Joppie village under Nwamitwa Tribal Authority in the Mopani District.

The campaign was under the commandership of social crime prevention coordinator, Warrant Officer Hakamela Shibambu in the company of Victim Empowerment Center coordinator (VEP) representative, Sergeant Nkhwaxu, Community Policing Forum (CPF) Executive Chairperson, Mr. Nelson Ndlovu, and Headman, Mr. Mavhavaza.

Members of the community were encouraged to participate in the CPF’s and street committees to collaborate with the police in the fight against crime.

The masses were addressed about the following pivotal issues:

* Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

* Domestic Violence Act.

* Sexual offenses.

* Mob justice.

* Drug and substance abuse.

Furthermore, housebreaking, theft, kidnapping, stock theft and procedure to report a missing person were precisely presented during the campaign.
