Man airlifted after reported gas explosion at a residence in Shaka’s Rock

IPSS Medical Rescue responded to reports of an explosion at a residential address in Chakas Rock, earlier yesterday.

On arrival, paramedics were met with an explosion scene that resulted in a male sustaining significant burns to his body. Paramedics worked to stabilise the man whilst requesting aeromedical support.

Black Eagle Aviation Aeromedical helicopter mobilized to the scene and airlifted the man to St. Augustines Hospital in Glenwood.
