Port Alfred’s K9 and Crime Intelligence swoop on drug dealer and seize suspected stolen property valued at over R600 000-00

Members of the Port Alfred K9 and Port Alfred Crime intelligence followed up on information that was received of stolen property that was sold at a house in Nemato.

During the intelligence-driven operation, an 18-year-old male was arrested after electronic equipment including a 105-inch curve flat-screen TV, laptops, cellphones, a grass cutter as well as a jewellery box containing antique jewellery and related certificates were also seized. All these items are believed to have been stolen during housebreakings and thefts.

Several bags weighing over 90 grams of crystal meth(tik) and cocaine weighing over 7 grams were also found and seized. The suspect who has been arrested faces a charge of possession of suspected stolen property and possession of drugs when he appears in the local magistrate’s court later this week.

Investigators are currently trying to establish the owners of the property that was recovered.

The community is urged to keep a record of all their serialised items, as this assists investigators in locating the owners.
