Shortly after 05h30am on Thursday morning, The dRK control centre was alerted to a business robbery in progress at a local liquor outlet on Lancaster Road in the Westville Area.
The information was immediately circulated to our squad units within the area and within minutes of them receiving the information, the squad units arrived on the scene.
Upon inspection of the premises, it was ascertained that approximately 10 suspects forced open the front door to the Liquor outlet and entered the store and then helped themselves to items from the shelves.
The South African Police Sevices were called to the scene.
It is further alleged that the 10 Suspects arrived in 3 different vehicle’s, 2 BMWs and a Toyota Etios.
According to an Eyewitness who cannot be named, the suspects were heavily armed with Rifles and Handguns.
Once the suspects were complete taking items off the shelves they exited the store, jumped into the awaiting vehicle’s and fled the scene towards the Pinetown area.
The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigations.
