A resident of Silverton in Pretoria – Gauteng who was visiting the Verulam CBD – in KZN was attacked by a group of men who accused him of making a video of them.
The man flagged down a Member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) who was patrolling the Cbd. He informed the Reaction Officer that he had exited a bank on Wick Street and was using his mobile phone when four (4) men attacked him using iron rods. According to the victim he was assaulted by the men who insisted that they were captured on camera while he was recording & taking pictures. The victim believes that the suspects were conducting illegal activities in the vicinity of a street traders stall. They then fled the scene on foot.
Reaction Officers searched the area without success.
