Three drug dealers in court

Police operations in the province are still ongoing on a high note. The members of the community can expect more police visibility in their areas as the police pounce on criminals.

On 24 August 2021 at 16:15, a multi-disciplinary operation was held at Montclair and Wentworth where the team was following up on information about a drug lab the was said to be producing and transporting a large number of drugs. The police proceeded to Atherstone Place in Montclair where a 32-year-old man was found in possession of 8 large solid blocks of rock cocaine and 254 blue and white capsules of heroin. The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of drugs.

Another 31-year-old man was found at the same premises in possession of drugs, three flat-screen TVs suspected to be stolen, and live ammunition. The suspect was also found in possession of a scale and money-counting machine. He was then placed under arrest for possession of drugs, possession of the stolen property as well as unlawful possession of ammunition. The estimated street value of the recovered drugs and property is R550 000-00. Both suspects are appearing before the Durban Magistrates Court today.

In another operation, police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit arrested a 35-year-old suspect for possession and dealing in drugs. The team acted on information about the suspect who was dealing drugs on Anton Lembede Street. When the police arrived at the premises, the suspect was found in possession of 1000 pink and clear capsules of heroin, 103 blue and white capsules of heroin, and 65,3 grams of pure heroin. The estimated value of the drugs is R43 000-00. The suspect is appearing before the Durban Magistrates Court today.
