Through police’s Crime Intelligence, information was received about a group of suspects, driving in a Honda Ballad, committing armed robberies around the areas of Johannesburg North.

The information was operationalised and the team was tactically deployed at the area where most of these robberies were happening.

The Honda Ballad, with five occupants, was spotted traveling on the M1 highway. The car was followed until it was stopped in Bramley, north of Johannesburg. Upon searching the suspects and the vehicle, the team found two unlicensed firearms and goods suspected to be taken during a house robbery. It was established that the car is fitted with false registration plates.

Once charged the suspects will appear in Magistrate’s Court on multiple charges.
