Two suspects busted for dealing drugs

Members arrest two suspects aged 24 and 41 for allegedly dealing drugs during a school safety operation.

On Thursday 11 November 2021 at about 10:00 when a team consisting of Provincial Anti- Gang, Public Order Police, K-9, and Social Crime Prevention around Thabo Mofutsanyane District were patrolling around Harrismith Central Business District after an awareness at a local school.

While on patrol around a drug dealer’s hotspot, the team noticed an African male with a black bag. Police chased the suspect and managed to apprehend him after dropping the black bag on the ground. Upon searching it police found 38 small packets of nyaope and 23 packets of rock pills. A 24-year-old male was apprehended for dealing drugs.

Public Order Police also managed to apprehend a foreign national male for dealing drugs in the same vicinity as he was found with four plastic bags of Khat. Money amounting to R 2 700, 00 was also found in his possession. The 41-year-old male was apprehended for dealing drugs.

Both suspects will appear before Harrismith Magistrates’ Court for dealing drugs.
