On Monday, 03 January 2022 members of the Gauteng Highway Patrol recovered a hijacked delivery bakkie and furniture in Mamelodi West following swift action from SAPS and Tracker SA.
According to a preliminary report, the Gauteng Highway Patrol members responded to a hijacking complaint in Mamelodi West. The hijacked delivery bakkie was transporting furniture with an estimated value of R20 000-00.
The SAPS Airwing guided the members on the ground to the precise location of the hijacked vehicle and furniture. Collaboration between SAPS and Tracker SA resulted in the swift recovery of the vehicle with the furniture.
Further investigation is still underway.
