Driver sustained serious injuries in a collision in Cottonlands

The driver of an Opel Corsa was seriously injured after he crashed into a metal barrier on Vincent Dickinson Road in Cottonlands, KZN.

A motorist flagged down a member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) and informed him of the accident. RUSA members responded to the scene and on arrival discovered Paramedics from Netcare 911 treating the seriously injured male. It was alleged that he swerved to avoid a broken-down vehicle when he collided with a metal barrier on the opposite side of the road.

The man was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol however this could not be immediately confirmed.
