Stranded woman reunited with her family in Verulam

34-Year-old Beruty Mtshubungu (pictured) has been reunited with her family.

On Friday (11/02/2022), Mtshubungu was transported to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters in Verulam, KZN by taxi after she was located walking around aimlessly in Osindisweni, KZN.

Reaction Officers interviewed the female who stated that she is a resident of Mount Ayliff in the Eastern Cape. In December 2021, she boarded a taxi to Durban, KZN, and had no finance to return home. She claimed that a spirit possessed her to make the four-hour journey. She has since been attempting to return home.

Mtshubungu was unable to provide any details with regard to her family. Officers contacted Police in the Eastern Cape who confirmed that no missing persons case was registered for anyone by that name. An article was then circulated on this Facebook page in an attempt to locate her family.

RUSA received several calls from residents of Mount Ayliff making inquiries regarding Mtshubungu after they viewed the social media post. Her family were eventually located and arrived at RUSA Headquarters yesterday (Tuesday) where they were reunited.

Mtshubungu will live with their family in Inanda, KZN until Friday when she will be transported back to the Eastern Cape.
